    BackgroundI have been
working in the mental health field since 1981 and have been a Licensed
Psychologist since 1990.  Rather restless until I found this path I
love, I worked in various settings from factories to offices to music to
sales before heading for graduate training in Psychology.  I spent my
first twenty plus years in the Northeast U.S.(Massachusetts and New York), the next twenty plus years in
the Southeast (Florida and Georgia).  I have been living in Alaska only since 2000 and am
loving it here! I obtained my
Master's degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Georgia State
University.  Georgia State had a program known for quality in training
psychotherapists.  It's primary clinical faculty were known in
particular for their work in Experiential, Gestalt, and Humanistic
traditions.  I completed my Internship at the Veterans Administration
Medical Center in Palo Alto California, also the training site for Stanford
Medical School Residents.  My post-doctoral training year was at the
Henry County Counseling Center, a county mental health center in Georgia. From 1990 to
2000, I worked primarily in private practice in Stockbridge Georgia where I
was also active in a private psychiatric hospital and as a consultant to the
county mental health center.  In 1995, I founded Horizon Center, a well
respected group of Psychotherapists and Psychiatrists that still serves that
community today. I am grateful for
my wide range of experience in the field.  I have found it critically
important to have worked with the most seriously mentally ill to those
looking more for ways to grow.  Each person has enriched me and adds to
what I bring to the next.
